Ketchum Takes Proactive Steps Regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19)
KETCHUM, IDAHO – As of this date, Idaho has no confirmed cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19). While the immediate risk to the public is still low, out of an abundance of caution the city of Ketchum is taking proactive steps in response to COVID-19.
Precautionary measures taken by the city include the cancellation of two upcoming events taking place on public property. The city will be evaluating all future events on public property to determine if they will be allowed.
Private event operators are encouraged to follow recommendations by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and State of Idaho.
The city’s rail jam event scheduled for Saturday, Mar. 14, has been cancelled. In conjunction with the Sun Valley Film Festival, the Main Street Salutes a Legend party to be held on Main St. on Friday, Mar. 20, has also been cancelled.
“While we are urging calm and common sense in dealing with this pandemic, we are also taking proactive measures that are prudent and within the city’s purview,” said Mayor Neil Bradshaw. “This is a fluid situation, so for now we have cancelled the two events on public property and will be actively monitoring all future events in public spaces.”
