Doing Business in Ketchum
Overview
The City of Ketchum requires all businesses with a physical location inside the City limits to obtain a business license. The cost of a business license when first applying is $125 and is non-refundable. For a business license renewal it is $50 annually. When applying for a business license, owners must also fill out and submit an Emergency Contact Form which is provided in our Business License Application packet for your convenience.
The City has a local option tax on all retail sales, building materials, liquor, and lodging. The City Sales Tax Permit Application is also provided in our Business License Application packet for your convenience (if applicable). For detailed information on the local option tax click here. Alcohol License
Businesses, which are planning to serve beer, wine, or liquor, will need to apply for a Beer, Wine and Liquor-By-The-Drink License Application. Please contact the City Clerk’s Office by calling 208.726.3841 to obtain the cost of the application; charges are prorated throughout the year.
