Physical Distancing/Masks
- We have capped registration at 31 children (with about 20 attending daily) to facilitate social distancing.
- We ask that all participants bring a mask, but we will have loaners if your child forgets theirs. Masks must be fitted, and made of double-layer cotton (ie, not a “Buff”).
- Staff and participants will be required to wear face masks anytime they are indoors.
- Participants are asked to bring a clean, labeled water bottle to Rec each day and can ask staff for help refilling these.
Drop-Off/Arrival and Pick-Up
- Arrival: Participants will walk over from Hemingway and line up outside at the back door’s check-in table. Staff will verify that they have a mask and check in as to how the child is feeling.
- Pick-Up: If you need to pick up your child before 4:30pm, please text (208) 450-3825 that day and a staff member will collect your child and walk them to the car. After 4:30pm, you may wait in the car and a staff member will escort your child to the parking lot when they spot your car.
- Parents must keep all children home at the first sign of illness, COVID-19 or otherwise.
Cleaning Protocols
- Each camper will sanitize their hands upon arrival and dismissal of camp and before and after snack or going to the bathroom.
- The Rec Room will be cleaned by janitorial staff each evening via best practices recommended by the CDC. Games and art supplies will be rotated and cleaned between uses.
Defined Tipping Points
In the event the City of Ketchum is notified of a positive case or close contact with a positive case:
- Sickness at ASP: If a child presents any COVID-19-esque or general signs of sickness, the parent will be called to pick up the child immediately. The child will not be permitted back at Rec for 72 hours, or 24 hours past their last symptom, whichever is greater. The camper will be eligible for a pro-rated refund/credit.
- Child tests positive: If a child has a positive test for COVID-19, they will only be allowed to return after 14 days has passed from their exposure date, AND have a negative test. The Recreation Department may close the program during this time. Participant(s) will be eligible for a pro-rated refund/credit.
- Senior staff tests positive: If a senior staff member has a positive test for COVID-19, the entire ASP program will be closed for 14 days. All participants will be eligible for a pro-rated refund/credit.
- If the State of Idaho regresses in their “Rebound Idaho” stages, the Recreation Department may implement additional measures to meet State criteria. This may include completely closing our After School Program. If the South Central Health District declares Blaine County a location of Community Spread, senior staff may make the determination to close our programs. All participants will be eligible for a refund/credit.
Please note that although the After-School Program will look a lot different than years prior, we are excited to host your child. Your child’s safety is paramount to staff, and we have planned all activities with this in mind.
Parents are always welcome to contact John or Julia with any concerns about their child’s safety or fun while at the Rec.
