Santa Claus is Coming to Town Square!
KETCHUM, Idaho – Join us at Ketchum Town Square on Wednesday, Dec. 5, for the Holiday Lighting Ceremony featuring a very special guest: Santa Claus!
The celebration will begin at 4:30 p.m. with a musical performance on the Town Square stage featuring Colla Voce from Wood River High School. The city will be serving hot chocolate, cider, cookies and hot mulled wine.
Leaving his sleigh at the North Pole, Santa will still arrive in style on a fire truck at 5 p.m. He will be joined by Ketchum Mayor Neil Bradshaw, and together they will lead us in a countdown to the Holiday Lighting.
“What I love about this event is the anticipation of it all,” said Mayor Neil Bradshaw. “Anticipating the lights, anticipating the arrival of Santa and the anticipation of the holiday season.”
After the lighting, Santa will be seated inside the Visitor Center where the children will have a chance to share their holiday wish lists. Santa will hand out candy canes as a parting gift. Letters can also be written and mailed to Santa inside the igloo at the Square. Be sure to include a return address so Santa can write back.
“People should come along as this is another chance to connect as a community, sip some mulled wine or hot chocolate, and share stories of the epic snowfall that is coming our way … hopefully,” Bradshaw said.
