Ketchum Welcomes All to “A Fair on the Square”
KETCHUM, IDAHO – The city of Ketchum is inviting residents to celebrate past achievements, share what the city is doing, and have a voice in creating its future.
The city is hosting its second annual “A Fair on the Square” on Friday, May 31, from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Ketchum Town Square. Food, refreshments, music and activities for kids will be part of the fun.
The event will provide an opportunity to recognize some of the progress the city has made based on what it heard from the community at last year’s fair.
This year, the city will be seeking input on its plans for a new fire station, the creation of affordable housing on the City Hall site, e-bikes on the bike path and the city’s sustainability efforts.
Future housing opportunities, sidewalk improvements, additional recreation opportunities and events, and other suggestions will help the city prioritize for the upcoming year.
“I’m excited to share what we’ve been doing since we heard from the community at last year’s Fair on the Square,” said Mayor Neil Bradshaw. “Lots of exciting projects are being planned and the public’s participation and input is vital to meeting the city’s vision to create a safe and vibrant town,” he added. “I hope many stakeholders will attend to learn how we can build a new fire station, stimulate more affordable housing, and help us make good decisions for the entire community.”
Free children’s activities include a 30-foot climbing wall, face painting, balloon animals, and arts and crafts with Daisy’s Workshop. Music will be provided by DJ Jens Peterson.
Local food and beverage will be available for purchase. Leroy’s Ice Cream will be open for business.
