Demolition Scheduled for Building at River and Main Streets

Demolition activities are scheduled for the building located at 280 East River Street, at the corner of River and Main streets. Work will include hazardous materials testing and abatement, demolition of the existing structure, removal and lawful disposal of debris, and site stabilization and grading as needed. 

WHERE: 
280 East River Street, at the corner of River and Main streets 

WHEN:  
Demolition is expected to begin July 28 until Aug. 7. The schedule is subject to change based on permitting weather and site conditions. 

WHY: 
The building must be removed to accommodate improvements associated with the Idaho Transportation Department's Highway 75 project, including construction of a new sidewalk. Because of the building's age, the demolition has been publicly noticed in accordance with applicable zoning regulations. 

PEG Ketchum Hotel, LLC, the property owner, will reimburse the City for all costs associated with the demolition activities.
