“The endowment has been very beneficial to our program and department for more than 15 years,” Recreation Director John Kearney said. “We also thank Roger Roland, President of the Board of Directors of the Chuck Gates Youth Endowment for his work in raising funds and promoting youth golf throughout the valley.”

The Chuck Gates Youth Endowment was established in 2002 in honor of the late Chuck Gates, one of the founders of the Idaho Mountain Express. Each year, the Chuck Gates Youth Endowment invites top junior golfers to play in the annual Chuck Gates Tournament at the Sun Valley Golf Course, which takes place in early June. The Tournament, in its 22nd year, raises money to support youth golf.
