Parks and Natural Resources Management


The city's Director of Parks & Recreation is responsible for managing, creative space planning, and establishing standards for care and maintenance for Ketchum's parks and natural resources, including:
  1. Management of fourteen parks and natural areas totaling about 40 acres. View a map of locations of City parks and natural areas
  2. Management of over $2 million worth of community forestry assets. 
  3. Managing memorials and donations for the city's public spaces. View the Memorials and Donations Resolution.


Recreation, Arts, Events and Park Reservations

  • Recreation Supervisor John Kearney and his staff invite thousands of children and adults each year to programs, sports tournaments and organized activities in Ketchum. Activities may be viewed and payments are accepted here.

For inquiries feel free to call us at 208.726.7820 or visit us at Atkinson Park located at 900 Third Avenue North just west of Hemingway Elementary School. Take Warm Springs Road to Eighth Street, left (west, toward Baldy) on Eighth, right on Third Avenue. Our Recreation Center and administrative offices are located in the beige building behind the soccer field/ice rink.

Office hours for the Parks & Recreation Department are generally 8:30-5:00 Monday through Friday. If staff are not present at the office, they may be performing field work.


Registration for the After School Program, the Summer Youth Recreation Program, and other youth activities is ongoing. Click the green button at the top of this page to register for a program.

It is the mission of the Ketchum Parks and Recreation Department to provide a safe, healthy, and accessible parks and natural resources system, and to provide exceptional youth and adult recreation, arts, and cultural opportunities for the citizens of Ketchum and visitors to our community.
