Ketchum Arts Commission
Overview
The City of Ketchum is home to a thriving arts community that has funded and created a nationally-recognized summer music festival and writers’ conference, a state-of-the-art theater and a public arts program that reflects the community’s enthusiasm and appreciation for all forms of art. Ketchum currently hosts over 12 art galleries including an accredited museum.
The mission of the Ketchum Arts Commission (KAC) is to integrate arts and culture into the community's life The KAC was created in 2009 by the City of Ketchum to:
- Enhance residents’ and visitors’ experience of the City of Ketchum by developing and supporting arts events, exhibiting art in public spaces, and promoting artists and artistic expression.
- Provide leadership and expertise to the city for the purpose of integrating and acquiring art for public enjoyment, education, and community bonding.
- Celebrate the arts through exhibition, performance, interaction, education, acquisition and innovative programming that showcases the region as an arts destination.
- Operate in alliance with area arts organizations to make Ketchum a vibrant and multi-faceted city that appeals to people of all ages, interests and backgrounds.
The KAC consists of local volunteers who are active in and passionate about the arts. Numerous other individuals also donate time and services to help implement the KAC's initiatives.
