Relocation of Overhead Power Lines Begins Tuesday in Ketchum

A construction project to move overhead power lines underground may affect motorists beginning Tuesday, Sept. 18 at Gem and Main streets (Idaho 75) in Ketchum.

Idaho Power crews and contractors will work to install electrical equipment underground at the entrance to Ketchum and along the west side of Idaho 75. This work requires crossing the road in three locations.

This work is related to construction of a hotel at the southeast corner of Main and River streets.

Contractors will be setting up equipment and preparing materials for the underground portion of the project. Traffic may be slowed in the construction areas. Work on this part of the project is scheduled to be complete by mid-December.

This project also involves installation of new underground conductors and devices, along with the removal of the overhead electrical system in the spring.
