Christmas has come early!

Christmas has come early! Well, sort of. I am delighted to announce that Jack Williams will be the Grand Marshal of the Wagon Days Parade.
Jack has been “Santa Claus” to many generations of kids in this valley. He has been greeting children at town ceremonies for so long that he can’t remember when he first started. However, he does remember traveling by horse and sleigh down city streets to make house calls in the days when plowing was not given the same importance that it is today. Jack’s legacy is much more than Santa – his love, empathy, respect and good citizenship has touched many. This is our chance to recognize the warmth he has brought to so many hearts in the chilly days of December, as well as the kindness he has spread throughout the year.

More music is our mantra.
From 5-7pm on Friday, August 10, Blaze and Kelly will be performing their folk-rock in a free concert in Ketchum Town Square. We will also see the last two Ketchum Alive events of the season with the performances of Afrosonics and Trevor Green on August 7 and 14 respectively. All these performances are brought to you by the City of Ketchum and part of our ongoing effort to add vibrancy in our city core.

Housing, housing, housing.
Providing a diversity of housing options for year-round residents continues to be a policy focus of ours. I am delighted that council will be reviewing the city requirements for the Northwood II affordable housing project at our next meeting. If approved by council, the tax-credit application will then be submitted to IHFA (Idaho Housing and Finance Association) for their consideration.

Hope you are enjoying the sights and sounds of summer.
